Add Arlo Pro & Arlo Pro 2 Camera Kits to HomeKit?

Before adding the Arlo Pro Camera to the Home app

To get started with Arlo Pro, you need to make sure that your home is prepared:

• Camera Arlo Pro or Arlo Pro 2

• Arlo hub suite with at least updated version:

  • VMB4000 series: 1.14.0.2_2776

  • VMB4500 series: 1.14.0.2_2777

• Download the Arlo app.

• Install the Home app.

Note when starting to set up the Arlo camera in your home.

• When adding the Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2 camera to your Home app, make sure you’re on a WiFi channel that’s same as what their hub uses.

• With the addition of a camera, you will need to install Central Controller (Home Pod or iPad) in order for it be able to control your security system remotely.

Setup the Arlo Pro & Arlo Pro 2 in the Arlo app

Setting up the Arlo security system is quite simple. You can follow instructions on accompanying manual or refer to this helpful video for a quick guide:

Connect Arlo Pro & Arlo Pro 2 to the Home app

When you have set up the Arlo Security System as above, continue with these steps to connect it to your Apple Homekit. There are two ways that this system can be installed:

Method 1: Install when you have HomeKit code:

Step 1: Open the Home app.

Step 2: Select the “+” icon to add a device.

Step 3: Scan the HomeKit code on the Arlo Base Station or on the installation manual.

Step 4: Give the Arlo Camera an arbitrary name.

Step 5: Select the room you want to add the device to.

After completing the above 5 steps, you have completed connecting your Arlo device to the Home application.

Method 2: When there is no HomeKit installation code:

Step 1: Open the Arlo app.

Step 2: Select Settings -> My Devices.

Step 3: Select the Homekit item.

Step 4: Select the Arlo Hub Kit that you want to add to Home.

Step 5: Select an existing (Home) or Create a new (Add New Home)

Step 6: Select an existing Room or Create a New Room

Step 7: Select Continue adding HomeKit devices

Step 8: Continue to follow the on-screen instructions to name your Camera and select the room where you need to set up the device.

Step 9: Select Skip or you can rename the device.

Step 10: Select Finish and you have completed all installation steps.

Note: You need to make sure that the name of your device is clear and precise for easy voice control (Siri).

With the addition of Arlo Security System to your Home app, you can now enjoy smart control over other devices from Apple’s prestigious line up.
