Amazon Alexa will be Matter compatible in 2022

Matter is a new smart home protocol that’s gaining a lot of attention and promises to become the common language used for many different platforms in the future. Matter is an open protocol that will soon be supported by Amazon Alexa and Eero. It’s safe to say Matter has the potential for big things in this industry!

Combination of Matter and Thread protocols on Amazon Alexa devices

Matter protocol will use Thread as a bridge to connect the two networks. With this new connection, Amazon Eero home networking devices can now act as “border routers” capable of forwarding signals between one another and also transmit Matter data across their own network using threads similar in function with Ethernet cables today but more efficient because they don’t rely on electricity or batteries!

The Amazon Echo Gen 4 and Eero mesh routers are both getting ready for the next generation of matter-based technology. These devices will be able to communicate with each other through a protocol developed by Matter in 2022!
